3 Days Safari Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1: After breakfast transfer to Ngorongoro.

It is about 5 hrs drive from Moshi to Ngorongoro Crater.  The road to Ngorongoro from Arusha crosses the Rift Valley and passes near the northern gate of Lake Manyara National Park.

  • Picnic lunch at the crater floor.
  • Afternoon game drive at the crater floor.

The animals are not trapped, here, but there are some migratory movements in and out of the crater. Because of the protected nature of the habitat and the and water, much of the availability of grazing pasture and water, much of the animal population remains resident throughout the year.  This makes Ngorongoro an ideal place for game viewing.  Several lion prides and some of the last surviving rhinos are to be found here.
