7 Days Safari to Mikumi, Udzungwa & Ruaha

Day 1: After breakfast transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park.

Mikumi national Park boasts of having more 300 species of birds particularly after the rainy season has started.  Some of these bird species are European migrants which seek refuge in the park.  The park is also famous for its elephants which are smaller in size than these in other parks in Tanzania.

Afternoon/Evening game drive in the park.

Day 2:  Morning game drive in the park

Afternoon departure for Udzungwa National Park

Udzungwa National Park is famous for its endemic species of primates i.e. the Iringa colobus monkey and the Sanje Crasted Mangabey.  Udzungwa Mountains also qualify to be the richest forest bird habitat in Tanzania and one of the top three most important zones for bird conservation in Africa.

Day 3: After breakfast morning walking safari in the park

Afternoon game drive in the park.

Day 4: After breakfast transfer to Ruaha National Park

The park derives its name from the Ruaha river and is part of a much larger ecosystem which includes two further protected areas, the Rungwa and Kizigo game reserve.  In addition to the teaming wildlife populations the park has, eg. Roan and sable antelopes, greater and lesser kudu, the exciting great Ruaha River features large numbers of hippo and crocodile.  Over 465 bird species have been sighted within the park.

After lunch proceed to Ruaha National Park

Dinner and overnight at Mwagusi Safari camp/campsite.

Day 5: After breakfast full day game drive with picnic.

Lunch (with a possibility of visiting kisima cha Mkwawa –Mkwawa’s well)

Dinner and overnight at mwagusi safari camp/campsite

Day 6: After breakfast full day game drive towards

Lunda/Ikuka – Mpululu direction with picnic lunches

Dinner and overnight at Mwagusi safari camp/campsite.

Day 7: After breakfast drive back to Dar es Salaam

End of the tour.
