            Mikumi national Park boasts of having more 300 species of birds particularly after the rainy season has started.  Some of these bird species are European migrants which seek refuge in the park.  The park is also famous for its elephants which are smaller in size than these in other parks in Tanzania.

                It is the vast number of baobabs that first capture the eye as you enter Tarangire Park.  The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals that beneath them.

                Lake Burungi area is in the north – western part of the park and a tour drive in this area will offers you fascinating opportunities to watch large herds of flamingos and other species of birds feeding on aquatic organisms in lake Burungi.  This area also contains an isolated population of Oryx.

                    It is about 5 hours drive from Moshi to Ngorongoro Crater.  The road to Ngorongoro crosses the Rift Valley and passes near the northern gate of lake Manyara National Park.

                    The animals here are not trapped, but there are some migratory movements in and out of the crater.  Because of the protected nature of the habitat and the availability of grazing pastures and water, much of the animal population has become resident year round.  This makes Ngorongoro an ideal area for game viewing.  There are several prides of lion and some of the last remaining rhinos to be found in Tanzania.  Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro compsite/Lodge.
